John "Eric" Sykes completed an impressive 24 years of distinguished military service within the Royal Marines, attaining the rank of Sergeant.

During his career, Eric served on numerous operational deployments in Northern Ireland, Hong Kong, Belize and the Falkland Islands, gaining extensive experience in challenging and demanding environments. His service with the Royal Marines instilled the leadership, resilience and professionalism that have remained hallmarks of his career ever since.

Following his military service, Eric continued to serve the nation through the Ministry of Defence, working as a Civil Servant from 1998 until 2016. Building on this extensive defence sector experience, he later worked as a consultant with the United Nations in Mali until 2019, contributing his expertise to international programmes and operations.

With more than four decades of service across military, government and international organisations, Eric brings a unique depth of knowledge and experience to Jobs4AllVeterans. His understanding of both military life and the transition to civilian employment enables him to provide valuable guidance and support to veterans and service leavers as they embark on the next chapter of their careers.

Jeff "H" Harris completed a distinguished 22-year career in the British Army, serving with the Royal Artillery and progressing through the ranks to Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2). For five years, Jeff also fulfilled the responsibilities of a Captain-level appointment as Regimental Signals Officer, giving him extensive leadership and management experience.

During his military career, Jeff completed seven operational tours, including two tours of Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Cyprus and three tours of Iraq. He developed considerable specialist expertise across C4I, Air Defence Systems, Tactical Data Links, training, leadership and the management of people and complex military capabilities. In 2013, Jeff was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) in recognition of his service – one of the proudest achievements of his military career.
After 22 years in uniform, Jeff experienced first-hand the challenge faced by many long-serving members of the Armed Forces: translating decades of military knowledge, responsibility, and experience into a language that civilian employers recognise and understand.

Jeff successfully made that transition into the defence industry, building a second career across defence operations, trials, integration, and programme environments before progressing into Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). He subsequently moved into ILS leadership, helping to establish and develop a UK capability and building teams to support complex defence programmes throughout the equipment lifecycle.
His experience on both sides of the transition from military to civilian employment gives Jeff a particularly valuable perspective as a Jobs4AllVeterans Ambassador. He understands the uncertainty that can accompany leaving a career and way of life that has defined someone for many years but equally understands the enormous value that military personnel can bring to civilian organisations.

Jeff is passionate about helping service leavers recognise that they are not starting again when they leave the Armed Forces. They take with them years of transferable experience in leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, training, logistics, operations, teamwork, and decision-making.

As an Ambassador, Jeff wants to help veterans recognise that value, approach their next career with confidence and connect with employers who genuinely appreciate what military experience can bring to their organisation.
His message to those preparing to leave the Armed Forces is simple: "Your military career is not something you leave behind. It is the foundation you build your next career upon."
